Commonly, when preparing tea or an infusion, we discard the bags that contain the flavors we like the most. But... Did you know that when you discard the bag, you are wasting other uses? Here are some simple and novel ways to reuse tea bags.
The first one that comes to mind might be related to another hot cup. We can reuse tea bags for a second round, but logically it will lose flavor and strength. Beyond this alternative use, there are other very interesting ones. Keep reading!
- Use chamomile tea bags on your puffy eyes. Hot or cold tea bags can help refresh eyes, whether they are sore, tired, or puffy.
- Reduce plantar warts. Plantar warts can be treated with tea bags thanks to the tannin they contain. Place a warm, damp tea bag on the affected area for 10-20 minutes, then let it air dry naturally. If you repeat this for a couple of days, the wart will hopefully disappear.
- Tea facial treatment. Place a prepared tea bag in a bowl of hot water. Then, position your head over the bowl and place a towel over your head, to keep the steam inside. It will leave your face glowing and radiant!
- Various skin reliefs by applying a damp tea bag. If you suffer from sunburn, a bruise, stings, or a cold sore, you can place a damp tea bag on the area, and it will help soothe the bad sensations.
- If you have a large, dirty, greasy dish that seems impossible to clean, leave it overnight with hot water and a few tea bags. They will help break down the grease.
- Clean dark leather shoes, by wiping a damp, prepared tea bag over the surface of the shoe.
- You can use tea to give your hair shine and softness! To restore your hair's shine, use a couple of used bags to brew strong tea (squeeze it thoroughly), then let the tea cool completely. Before showering, pour the tea over your hair until it is completely wet. Let the tea sit for about 10 minutes, then get in the shower. Wash and condition your hair as usual. Your hair will thank you for the tea treatment!
- Control refrigerator odors with tea bags. Place some used tea bags in a bowl and put them inside a smelly refrigerator. Let them sit overnight, remove the tea bags, and you will find that the unpleasant odors will have disappeared.
